Panagia Paraportiani – The Icon of Mykonos
In the heart of Mykonos Town stands one of the island’s most iconic landmarks – the Church of Panagia Paraportiani. This stunning whitewashed structure isn’t a single church, but a blend of five small chapels, built over time and beautifully layered, with the main chapel crowning the top.
Its name means “Our Lady of the Side Gate,” as it was once near the entrance to the old castle in the Kastro area. With its curved lines, bright white façade, and unique asymmetry, it’s a masterpiece of Cycladic architecture and one of the most photographed spots in Greece.

Faros Armenistis – The Lighthouse of Mykonos
The Armenistis Lighthouse, or Faros, is a beautiful and peaceful spot on the northwestern side of Mykonos. It was built in 1891 to help guide ships safely through the sea and is still working today, although now it runs automatically.
The lighthouse is 19 meters tall and stands on a hill with an amazing view. From here, you can see the island of Tinos and the deep blue of the Aegean Sea. It's also a great place to watch the sunset – one of the best on the island.
Far from the busy town, Faros is perfect if you want to enjoy the quiet and see a different, more calm side of Mykonos.
